Gathering for Good: Urban + Rural

I attended my first Gathering for Good of 2016 last week, in Raleigh. It was the first of only two gatherings to be held in Raleigh this summer because, with this year’s theme focusing on bridging the gap between urban and rural communities, the conversations are being held in a variety of North Carolina locations. Given that the gatherings are moving to other areas of the state each month, my opportunities to attend will be limited so I made attending this gathering a priority, not only for me, but also for my rising 9th grade twins.

Beets, Berries, & Big Smiles

Welcome to the inaugural monthly blog post about Second Saturday, Raleigh, North Carolina — “a once-a-month celebration of local food and community.” There is an abundance of fun and exciting things to share about Second Saturday. One post barely scratches the surface of the rich experience Second Saturday offers Triangle communities from April to November, so I am dedicating a series of posts to exploring the joy that is spending the second Saturday of every month (April through November) in Downtown Raleigh.
