Marcelle comes from a long line of artistic people on both sides of her family, including her mud pie “eating” grandmother and her great great grandfather, the father of American studio ceramics, Charles Fergus Binns. Her innate imagination and creativity, nurtured by her grandmother, has been a source of healing and strength throughout Marcelle’s life.
Drawing on that creative well Marcelle chose to learn pottery as part of her treatment and self-care during a lengthy mental health struggle . Little did she know that what started as a healing creative outlet would lead to a passion and a career.
Now, after decades of working to care for and protect others in addition to navigating her own survival and healing journey Marcelle has pivoted to pottery. Enter Moonflower Creative Pots and our planters, vases, mugs, and other unique, fun, and functional décor (pie plates to come).
When she’s not in the studio or doing other Moonflower Creative Pots work Marcelle can be found curled up reading with her cats, paddle boarding with husband Scott, or competing in virtual game nights with her college aged twins. Oh, or hanging out with her therapist continuing to heal and grow.
“E Concrematio. Confirmatio—out ot the fire comes firmness, through stress we pass to strength.”
